Director of Assessment and Survey Research
Institutional Research and Assessment, Office of the Provost at Howard UNIVERISTY | 2025 to present
My primary function in this role is managing campus-wide surveys, including Course Evaluations and the Graduating Student Exit Survey. In this role, I design all institution-wide surveys, deploy the surveys and facilitate data collection, and then process the data collected to report findings to community members.
I also support with the facilitation of the Howard Annual Assessment Process (HAAP) for all academic and administrative units, including annual workshops and other forms of programming.
I am passionate about recognizing the vibrant diversity of the Howard community and using assessment as a tool to continuously improve access and equity in the institution. I previously served in the roles of Assessment Coordinator (2023-2024) and Associate Director of Assessment (2024-2025).

Adjunct Lecturer at Morgan State University
College of Continuing and Interdisicplinary Studies at Morgan State University | 2025 to Present
I serve as instructor of record for CICS399D “Globalization & Culture,” in the College of Continuing and Interdisciplinary Studies. I proposed and designed the course for asynchronous online delivery to continuing learners/nontraditional students. The course runs over an abbreviated 8-week term.
I based this course design off of a course I taught at George Mason University (GLOA 320: Globalization & Culture), integrating student feedback from course evaluations to improve the course structure and accessibility.

I defended my dissertation entitled “Triangulating Despair: Desi Cultures of Crisis and Care in Research Triangle, North Carolina” in June 2024.

My research looked into South Asian Americans mental health from a cultural studies framework, understanding the complex negotiations that young people undergo when seeking support. I put forward a nuanced theory of competing pressures that lead to ‘crises of despair’ and identifies areas for support that emerged in the community.
My field statements focused on Body Politics and Migration and Citizenship. I was a recipient of a Summer Research Fellowship through GMU’s Provost office in Summer 2022 and was a Center for Humanities Research Doctoral Fellow in Fall 2022.
During my doctoral studies, I was a Graduate Teaching Assistant (instructor of record for GLOA 101 Introduction to Globalization and GLOA 320 Globalization and Culture) from 2018-2022. I supported the Cultural Studies program in receiving a Curriculum Improvement Grant “Race and Ethnicity in Cultural Studies: New Courses, New Connections” and served as a Graduate Research Assistant to support that effort (2021). I also served as a Graduate Research Assistant for a National Science Foundation Grant project (“Gateway2STEM”) on adopting active learning pedagogies in STEM instruction (2023).
